Jason Wiley is both a skilled trial lawyer and accomplished practitioner in all facets of commercial transactions and corporate formation and governance.

Jason has been recognized by colleagues and publications as a preeminent practicing attorney, earning a recognition as Legal Elite by the Nevada Business Magazine in 2017, and as a Top 100 Mountain States Lawyer by Super Lawyers in 2016 and 2015. He has been a contributing author to the Nevada Civil Practice Manual and regularly provides articles on current discovery issues for publication by the American Bar Association Pretrial Practice and Discovery subcommittee. Jason has also participated as a panelist in seminars conducted by the International Association of Lawyers.
Prior to entering private practice, Jason served as an intern and staff attorney for the National Football League Players Association in Washington, DC.

Jason has previously served as an adjunct professor at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas teaching courses in business law and legal environment. He is active in the Las Vegas community, most notably coaching his children’s youth sports teams.

Lead Trial Counsel
Prevailed on all claims at trial as lead counsel in a title insurance litigation in which client loaned $2.45 million secured by certain real property and where owner of property alleged fraud.
Successfully obtained injunctive relief as lead trial counsel for a major Las Vegas mixed-use development in two separate actions against trade unions. Client was awarded injunctions enjoining the unions from conducting demonstrations contrary to First Amendment protections.

Lead trial counsel for 123 Nevada-formed entities subject to subpoenas issued by a New York financial institution as part of that institution’s $3.7 billion collection proceeding against The Republic of Argentina. Prevailed on Fed.R.Civ.P. 26 claims.

Obtained injunctive relief as lead trial counsel for individual awarded a $6.9 million judgment against yoga guru Bikram Choudhury and his affiliated entities. Successfully enjoined Choudhury from transferring assets in an attempt to thwart client’s collection efforts.

Prevailed on all claims at trial for a client embroiled in a partnership dispute centered around a land development and construction enterprise. Adverse party seeking over $2.5 million in damages.

Business Litigation
Counsel to a high net-worth client who has loaned $3.4 million in hard money transactions to an individual who has purportedly used the proceeds to extend bridge financing with certain Chinese financial institutions. Litigation pending.

Awarded summary judgment on contractual and tortious interference claims alleged by a major timeshare company against clients conducting business as a broker and marketer of properties.
Obtained injunctive relief for a client in the trade show freight forwarding business seeking to enjoin a former employee from accepting a position with a competing venture in violation of an employment agreement.

Secured dismissal of all claims for multiple clients facing copyright infringement claims alleged by the Las Vegas Review Journal on the grounds that assignment of the copyright violated applicable U.S.

Code.
Awarded summary judgment on all claims asserted against clients in a title insurance litigation where clients extended a $1.7 million hard money loan secured by real property and property owner alleged recorded documents were forgeries.

Lead counsel in an adversarial proceeding in bankruptcy court for a client embroiled in an adverse possession claim related to one of the most prestigious golf courses in the country. Brokered the eventual sale and drafted the purchase documents allowing for the transfer of ownership of the golf course post-litigation.

Secured recovery of $1 million for a prominent music & recording company in the domestication of a foreign judgment and subsequent post-judgment litigation before the bankruptcy court

Transactional Experience
Negotiated and drafted a licensing and use agreement allowing an IT client to implement wireless services in a large hotel chain’s properties throughout the country.

Represented a medical consortium in the interpretation of the provisions of the company’s controlling documents, the resolutions to forcibly remove one of the doctors from the consortium, and the negotiation and preparation of the separation documents.
Represented a minority shareholder in the relinquishment of his interest in a closely held corporation. Coordinated efforts with appraisers and drafted the separation agreement and relinquishment documents.

Assisted client in the dissolution of a partnership conducting business in the field of exotic car rentals. Negotiated the return of vehicles and prepared the resignation of corporate officers, certain corporate resolutions, and relinquishment documents.

Negotiated, brokered, and drafted a merger and acquisition agreement between a Nevada corporation and Japanese entity which allowed for the marketing and sale of certain fitness equipment in the United States. Provided counsel to the corporation in a litigation centering on the infringement of the company’s intellectual property by a former employee.

Lead counsel for an Alaskan-based entity specializing in unmanned aerial crafts (drones) seeking to expand its operations to Nevada. Worked in concert with government authorities to approve the use of unmanned aerial crafts in the jurisdiction.

Revised a trade show freight forwarding client’s employment agreement to better adhere to the geographic scope and duration provisions favored by the courts to enforce restrictive covenants in employment agreements.
